A brief bio on the characters featured in the story and Solo Missions.
Joanna Dark is a new recruit of the Carrington Institute. She managed to shatter all previous training score records held by the institute. She has all the skills necessary to become a valuable operative, and all she lacks is experience. She has now been handed her first chance, and her first assignment. In many ways, she has been dubbed 'Perfect'. This led to her code name. 'Perfect Dark'. Her weapon of choice, the Falcon 2 Pistol
Little is known about Joanna's sister, Velvet. She is also a Carrington Institute operative, and only appears on missions when you request some extra help, and decide to play Co-operative mode.
The founder of the Carrington Institute, and also the head of it. Carrington arranges the assignments and missions of his operatives. He has constructed a training institute for his operatives to train in, which features holo-training, a firing range, and other areas.
Yet another operative of the Carrington Institute. He held the best and fastest records at the Carrington Institute, until Joanna shattered them. He bears no grudge against her though, and even helps her out with his expertise in stealth, when Joanna excels in full out combat. His weapon of choice, is the DY357 Magnum.
This is the skinny little alien body that Joanna rescued from Area 51. He turns out to be more of a partner than an objective. He surprisingly speaks English, as his people have been watching earth for the longest time. He provides Joanna with some of his people's technology, including the FarSight XR-20.
The head of dataDyne is aware of the intentions of the Skedar race. But she is influenced by the opportunity of extreme power. She knows of the existence of the Carrington Institute, and hates every part of it.
He's the big, tough looking man behind dataDyne, as so it seems. It is later revealed, that he is actually a Skedar Alien, posing behind a holograph of a towering, menacing young man.
In Perfect Dark Trent is the head of the National Security Agency (NSA). Trent Eatson is trusted by The President of the United States. Because of this, he assumes that he can persuade The President to loan him the government research vessel, the Palagic II. The president refuses, and Trent's attempt at keeping a clone of the President fails. Mr. Blonde has no use for what does not function properly, and he lashes out of his humanoid form, into the Skedar alien that he really is, and kills Easton.
He goes only by his title, The President. The president is a very intelligent man, and he refuses to loan the government research vessel, the Palagic II, to dataDyne. Trent Easton and his bodyguards hijack the Air Force One, but Joanna and Elvis team up to save The President.
The weapon of choice for the Maian soldiers, is their Callisto NTG. They show up on the Skedar Attack Ship, to fend off the Skedar aliens, so Joanna and Elvis can proceed further in the level. They wish for nothing but peace, but will fight when challenged. They are intent on destroying the Skedar home planet, as the Skedar are the roots of all their problems. And when they learn of the Skedar's intentions on Earth, the planet which they have watched simply for pleasure and curiousity, they take action immediately.
The Skedar are a vicious, reptilian race, to whom war is a religion. They warship and protect their leader. They have a wide variety of fighting techniques using their razor sharp claws. They also have no objection to using other lethal forces, like a few of their home grown weapons, like the hand held Mauler, the remote rocket launching Slayer, or the vicious and crude razor spinning Reaper.
